Blogs, vlogs, e-newsletters, tweets, and You Tubes – should NAPFA advisors have a digital marketing strategy, and how do they get one? What are some of the best practices to ensure success, and pitfalls to avoid? Most of all, how do we get started, and how do we measure success? Let’s hear from some advisors on what’s working well and what’s working maybe not so well!

Mitch Anderson, CFP®, a partner at EFinancial Alliance in Franklin, TN, has over 17 years of experience in a variety of financial management roles, both in corporate and personal finance. Mitch previously served clients with Bolen Dodson Wealth Management, as well as through a founding partnership with The Refuge Center for Counseling. He serves as an adjunct professor of personal finance with Franklin’s Williamson College.

Holly Donaldson, CFP®, of Seminole, FL, has been a featured speaker on the psychology of money in a variety of venues, quoted in the Wall Street Journal, InvestmentNews, FinancialAdvisor, Money, and More. Her book, “The Mindful Money Mentality: How To Find Balance in Your Financial Future”, (Porchview Publishing, 2013) was called “…a great addition to an advisor’s shelf, as well as a hugely valuable book for clients who are at a personal and financial crossroads” by NAPFA Advisor. Before starting a planning-only practice in 2006, Holly spent 21 years in banking, primarily with First Union (now Wells Fargo).

Tad Herrington, CFP®, Senior Financial Partner at John E. Sestina and Company in Columbus, OH, originally joined the firm as an intern in 2010 while attending The Ohio State University. In 2013, Tad pursued an opportunity as a financial planning specialist with a large multinational corporation, where he worked with a diverse group of advisors and gained a unique perspective on the financial planning industry. After seeing the wide range of services that clients can receive, Tad rejoined John E. Sestina and Company in 2016 because of their comprehensive nature, unique process, and commitment to fee-only planning.

Eric Roberge, CFP®, in Boston, is the founder of Beyond Your Hammock, a virtual financial planning company that helps younger professionals do more with their money. His successful transition from a corporate career working for State Street Bank and JPMorgan Chase to business owner at the age of 33 drives him to help others take advantage of their cash flow, live for today, and plan responsibly for tomorrow. Eric is a founding member of the XY Planning Network and sits on the board of the Massachusetts FPA as the director of NexGen, which represents financial advisors under the age of 37.
